Jurors hung on every scandalous, shocking word Tuesday as Casey Anthony lawyer Jose Baez put her father on trial, claiming that two year old Caylee drowned in the family pool, and accused George Anthony with fishing her out and tossing the body, but blaming it on her mother, Casey.
Then, shock of all shocks, he charged the former police detective with creating a liar out Casey when he molested her as a little girl, suggesting she was programmed to lie from an early age to cover up the dark famliy secret of incest, and that’s what made her able to go 31 days without reporting her daughter missing.
Oh, and Baez claimed it was George who disposed of the body, not the accused killer, his daughter. On his show, Dr. Drew said he detected a bit of “shame’ on George Anthony’s face, even the he denied his desperate daughter’s charges. She faces the death penalty if convicted.

On HLN’s Nancy Grace show, veteran Atlanta criminal defense lawyer Ray Giudice, a Bald Truth sponsor, said Jose Baez had to swing for the fences” to create a solid defense for his client and would have to be able to back it up to be believed.
That made Grace, a former prosecutor, prickle up. “Don’t start!” she sneared, “and try to say they had to prove a big fat lie. This is not some home run.”
Another lawyer added he didn’t think the tactic would fly, and would certainly alienate a jury if they discover Baez was playing them for fools.

Well, even if George is innocent couldn't he be ashamed of being accused? Considering the wording and that his daughter is making these claims couldnt George be ashamed thinking what people may think of him?

If there was shame on George's face, it is due to the fact that his daughter that he raised was a boy crazy spoiled brat compulsive liar. He must be aware that people are wondering just why Casey was always treated with these kid gloves by her parents, and that the family was dysfuntional. Casey was probaby never properly disciplined or told to act right. Thats not to say that they didnt love her, many families face the same issues, it just so happens that this one manifested to the point of no return. Of course he is ashamed.

If I were on that jury and if what Jose Baez said had a scintilla of truth in it and he and Casey did not come forward before this time knowing what they allegedly know, I would be livid. Defense lawyers, after this display, should have not one doubt why John Q. Public has so litle respect left for them. They are to defend their clients, not pervert justice.

I feel there is truth to Casey being molested. When kids are molested by a parent or by a family member, they grow up thinking that it is a part of being raised. They don't know that it don't take place in anyone does home. All they know is their ashamed and told not to talk about it. Casey had a lot of strange behavior, but not because she killed her daughter. A guilty person would have different behavior. If Casey really wanted to kill her daughter she would have drowned her herself and then told police she fell in.
Jesse Grand will testify to just how scared Casey was of her mom and how Cindy put her down. After so many years of verbal abuse, the person ends up believing she is as bad if not worse than what she is made to feel. I'm sure everyone has heard of the syndrome where they identify with their abductions, there is no difference just because it is a family member.
As for why Casey's attorney didn't come forward with this is because the police wanted her for murder. They then would have built a murder case against her using that information.
As for why George covered this up is beneath me, but just go with the molestation on Casey for a minute. What if he molested Called before Casey got up that morning. He drowned her, not wanting to, but in a moment of not knowing what to do thinking he would go to jail. He asked Casey where Called was. He goes out back by the pool and finds her. Tells Casey she will go to jail and knowing his daughter would get scared, he agreed to hide the body. Why else in God's name would he not. Want to call police. He being a police officer should have known Casey would not go to jail.

I've always thought there was some wierd family dynamics and abuse going on. Even the police tested the brother's DNA to see if he was the father. The brother even state Cindy and Casey were in fights that escalted to Cindy having her hands around Casey's neck. It's very possible that she was molested and abused – it's not that unusual. But most victims do not commit murder. It seems to me this accusation is probably true but difficult to prove as it doesn't happen in the open. But I have doubts that Caylee accidently drowned in the pool. Casey may have given her too much chloroform to quite her but they don't want to say that because that would be aggrevated homocide.

I think Dr. Drew needs to stick to his field of expertise and body language is not it. However, it is the field in which Janine Driver has over 10 years of experience with the ATF and interrogations and she had a completely different take than Dr. Drew. She was on TV and read it as sadness. The bowed head toward the midsection where the heart is located denoted pain. Heart felt pain – not shame. I'm going with her interpretation.

Amen, Carole-I've got a long time friend who just turned 70 a couple months ago. she's still working because her "poor" 46 yr. old son who's "depressed" sits around, drinks beer all day and smokes cigarettes to go w/the beer. her daughter, late 30s, pregnant w/2nd child, needs my friend to help her financially because her welfare check doesnt cover all her expenses, even though she works full time. somehow she gets away w/it. yet my friend is always bashing minorities for taking advantage of the system. another case of over indulgence.

I am absolutely sure that casey killed her child , if not on purpose by an overdose. Read zanny as a euphenism for xanax, " she's in the care of zanny the nanny" does not mean a person. stella

Baez has a liar for a client and we are suppose to believe anything she says? Way would he let his client sit in jail for 3 years if he knew this and why would he be on every TV station giving us his BS? He gets George on the stand and doesn't have the balls to question him about the sexual abuse.

I totally agree, Cliff. If this was "just an accident" then WHY would Baez have gone through all of this for the last 3 years at the taxpayers' expense? To make a name for himself. They could have gone to the DA long ago..of course the DA may not have believed it anymore then than they do now. I personally don't think the defense believes it either, but they had to find something to throw in "reasonable" doubt at this point. Fortunately, the jury is going to "reasonably doubt" this defense theory! Casey will have to take the stand and continue her tirade of lies. After all, in the defense's opening statements. they admitted that their client was a liar…period. So are we to now assume that she's recovered from her alleged "PTSD" (the defense's diagnosis, not a mental healthcare professional's) and believe what she says as truth? Not. You started this, Baez, now you have to stick to it. Game over!

Will yesterday's (5-31-11) "HLN " (Headline News) on the Anthony trial be on again? My husband deleted it before I had time to watch. Watched In Session but didn't have a chance to pick up the remainder of the day. Husband is in deep trouble ha
Incidentally, anybody that believes Casey's accusations is off their rocker. George and Lee are innocent. Also, tired of hearing "dysfunctional." Who really knows that? Think about it; with TV reporters, protesters outside their home day and night, they better be glad it was a base ball bat (a self-defense weapon just in case) and a water hose rather than a shot gun!!! The only person in this family that is dysfunctional is their daughter, Casey; not the entire family.

Will there be any DVR's available for this trial coverage for purchase? Or is this even permissable? Some of my family has been watching this from the very beginning but now working and cannot view it. Like I previously posted, I've missed some. I certainly would be interested in purchasing.

I am so glad casey's parents are telling the truth about what they know and not trying to cover for her. That has to be a very hard thing to do knowing she could get the death penalty but i think her mother is finally seeing her for the twisted mess she is. My god she is like a tornado causing total distruction every where she goes. Poor little Caylee never had a chance how sad that she never had a father or a real mother.

Yes! I agree! The best advice he could have given her would have been to tell the truth and spare her family, and the tax payers. He is a horrible attorney and personally I think he should be disbarred for obstruction of justice. He should also be disbarred for the false allegations he is helping his client to make against her own father in order to "create" a defense for this liar! I believe he saw $$$$ with this situation and has manipulated Casey and this whole thing by alienating her from her family in order to further his agenda. Its a shame!
