D.C. Madam: “See You On The Other Side”
One Suicide Note Left By “D.C. Madam”
By Bald Truth Staff, (c) www.artharris.com
In two suicide notes released by police Monday in Tarpon Springs, Florida, Deborah Jeane Palfrey tells her mother and sister she’s sorry, but sees suicide as the only “exit strategy” after she was convicted as the so called “D.C. Madam.”
She sounds bitter about the “modern day lynching,” as she termed her prosecution and convicition, and was not optimistic about what she expected would be a long prison term at her sentencing on July 24. She tells her family her late father will lead her “into the light,” and expects to see them on “the other side.”

In an account by the Associated Press, Palfrey feared she’d emerge from prison in her 50s, broke and alone. She claimed her escort service hooked up powerful men with dates but she no hand in any sexual activity the women may have engaged in.

Those two letters show a woman in deep despair.I can put myself in her position, and understand exactly what she was feeling. She felt betrayed, humilated, made a scapegoat, puting yourself,in her frame of mind,Hanging is not at all surprising,She wanted to get away, fast from everything, I wish the men that used her services never have another peaceful day or night,May they be tormented by seeing in there mind her hanging,

Why haven’t they gone after the JOHN’S? Because their powerful and rich men. I don’t beleive she killed herself. When all was said and done she would have gotten about 4yrs, out in 2 for good behavior. If she was going to kill herself it would have been in a nice hotel room where her mother wouldn’t have found her not in a shed. 2 women killed themselves by hanging?
Women usually do it with pills or wrist.

Mary I do not get why everyone thinks the only way for a woman to do away with herself is by pills,in my lifetime I KNOWN OF A WOMAN WHO DRANK BLEACH,and died.Another ran in front of a 6 wheeler.Still another jumped off a high building,The woman Ms Palfrey knew hung herself, you could say it was a copycat death. If I WAS IN HER POSITION,i would have had video tapes of me,telling the world about .who, what where and with whom.and had copies made, and had them addressed and ready to mail to there wifes for christmas.

Sad. As a general rule are release of suicide letters common practice in high profile cases? Are we, the public, now suppose to believe (without doubt) that she did, in fact, kill herself? I, for one, am not so sure. I am also angry that this woman is dead, her family left to suffer and “the big boys” are free to continue to play and plot their next visit to another D.C. Madam if they wish????? Why did they go after her in the first place – she offered the service, the boys paid for the service, she’s dead and as far as I know the “black book” has never been made public – it should be!!!

Whats a girl gonna do, after being used , abused, mocked. betrayed, condemed, for what is happing in thousands of cities, all over the world. And because it was with the BIG BOYS. makes it worse??? Get thoae BIG BOYS and hang them all out to dry, they nedd to keep it in their pants, till they get home.

I don’t need to read her suicide letters to believe she wasn’t thinking of anyone but herself.

Hi Art
When I first heard the news that she killed herself I did not believe that she would do that, even harder for me to understand was the fact that she did it at her Mother’s.
I have now read the letter’s and yes it does sound like a woman in dispair, but I will always wonder about this.
It is just so sad that she was even charged and all the slimy man are probably still doing the same thing going about their lives as if nothing happened.
Hopefully what goes around comes around and slaps them upside the head. Karma is a B!!!!

Beverly I said usually not always. I also said if she did hang herself why do it where her mother would be the one to find her. For the rest of her life when she thinks about her daughter the sight of her hanging will be in her mind.

The two letters are just so very sad, showing how she felt there was no way out and she could not stand the thought of prison even for a short time.I too think the johns should not be given a free pass but IMO they are just heaving a big sigh of relief and feel no remorse at all.

She chose that way of life, knowing perfectly well it was illegal; most importantly, she and her crew caused a lot of pain to a lot of wives and girlfriends. I do not think it is fair for the “johns” to get away with that behavior. Lorena Bobbitt’s is the way to go.

MARY—-Maybe Ms Palfrey, wanted her mother to find her,so her mother would know the truth, what if she did this somewhere else, her mother would spend the rest of her life, thinking she was murdered, who, saw her daughter first, was something added or taken away. Her mother would be in worse shape, and end up with a lot of doubt,

That poor woman! Yes, prostitution is illegal , but unfairly so……I can understand questioning the morality of it and that is fine as everyone has different morals and values. HOWEVER< when it comes down to it, consenting sex between two adults should not be illegal. In fact, it’s absolutely absurd that it is not legal…..We live in a country that vocalizes women’s rights. Abortion is legal in most places for that very reason…..So, basically, we are allowed to murder fetuses due to a “women’s right”; but getting compensation for sexual services is not? We need to legalize prostitution to make it safer for everyone and generate extra revenue for our government:-) Either that, or the law should stay out of…..My body! No one tells me what to do with it!
