Dr. Conrad Murray Found Guilty! No Bail!

Jurors in the manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor Monday found Dr. Conrad Murray guilty of killing his pop superstar patient with an overdose of drugs designed to help him sleep, including the powerful hospital anesthetic, propofol.
As the clerk read the verdict in a wavering voice, someone in the Jackson family entourage let out an audible squeel, but was not admonished.
Murray, glum if elegant in a gray suit, was denied bail.
Judge Michael Pastor explained Murray was now a risk to public safety, convicted of a homicide, and should not be free as he has been in weeks and months during the trial. He said the penal code justified keeping him in custody until sentencing, set for Dec. 29 in Los Angeles.
He looked stunned as a sheriff’s deputy pulled his arms behind him and snapped on handcuffs while he was still sitting at the defense table.

Murray looked stunned as a sheriff’s deputy pulled his arms behind him and snapped on handcuffs while he was still sitting at the defense table. He huddled briefly with his lawyer, Ed Chernoff, of Houston; then deputies lead him from the courtroom.
“Justice was served,” an elated Jermain Jackson said while leaving court. “Michael is with us.”
Murray had been spotted around LA at restaurants, and at the beach, and showed up at the courthouse Monday with a documentary film crew in tow. Radar Online reports he’s shooting it to pay sky high legal bills.
Chernoff asked that Murray be allowed to remain free on his own recognizance, the assistant district attorney argued he now had a motive to flee with prison looming.
Judge Pastor thanked the jury for their service, and lifted a gag order on attorneys.
Outside the courthouse, Jackson fans erupted in celebration, waving signs and cheering as the Jackson family sauntered past. “Thank you, America, thank you,” said LaToya Jackson, stopping to talk briefly with HLN’s Jane Velez Mitchell.
Jackson’s sister, who has been espousing a bizarre conspiracy theory that included Murray, praised the prosecutors and said, “Michael loved everybody out here (fans). He was in that courtroom. That’s why we won.”
HLN’s Alan Duke reported Chernoff had told him as he was leaving court that he was still going to push for bail, and left the door open for a possible appeal.

Murray deserved some punishment, but Michael was a drug addict long before Murray came along.. How does a Dr. say no to MJ? They don't, and didn't.. IMO Murray should lose his license permanently…Who's to say he wouldn't do something as outrageous as this again? I don't think MJ would have lived a long life…He had the dermatologist in his life regularly, poisoning his body with Demerol..He would have continued to get drugs…Eventually drugs would have killed him in the not so far future.. IMO..
Art, isn't the date Nov. 29, and not Dec. 29 for his sentencing hearing? TY

Hi Art
Yes, the date for sentencing is Nov 29th. I have a question after watching this documentary. Would there be good cause for yet more contempt charges since not only Conrad breached the rule of adonishment by the Judge, but his lawyers did as well? You'd sure think more fines would be in order because maybe some the that nonsense could have been taped in 2009 or 2010, but Dr. White was in on all this on the video too and he wasn't brought in as a defense witness until this year.
Whether you cared for Michael Jackson or not, this was the absolutely most derrogitory thing I've witnessed on primetime television since the Bashir fiasco, the way they portrayed Michaels way of living, Oh I can sure see Conrad was some good true blue friend, sure he was. I hope the Judge gives him the absolute max and fines him and his lawyers too. NBC has sunk to an all time low. For shame.

Hey Art,
Long time, no talk.i don't believe that Murray should of even stood trial! MJ was well known as an addict and a collapsing face. He took all kinds of medication and went doctor shopping all the time. In fact, he hadn't even signed Murray's contract. So Murray never got paid. I believe he was stockpiling medication to take to England with them.
It is very difficult to say no to MJ, as many ppl learned. Also, because Murray never got paid, I'm sure that made a difference in his actions. I think they had a lot of pressure by the company that planned this huge event.
His family tried interventions, but MJ wouldn't let them in the gates.I was sorry to hear the trial results. I think Murray was just a person in over his head! MJ killed MJ. I'm surprised he lived as long as he did.
Luv ya,
Take care, stay safe, and catch me on the flipper.

I never understood why Dr. Murray was tried for manslaughter, rather then malpractice.
Marti000, in my opinion too, brings up the very valid point that Michael Jackson had severe addiction problems before Dr. Murray entered his life. His death sadly (all the way around) took place on Dr. Murray's clock–it could have been on anyone's clock.
It appears that the Jackson camp, along wit AIG 'doctor shopped' and found a doctor who was most vulnerable, and exploited the vulnerabilities of Dr. Murray.
The death of Michael Jackson was/is tragic, and the three children he left behind do not deserve to have this undue chaos in their lives. I truly hope, and speaking as a parent, wish them only the best and hope they will rise above all of this.

I think that we can't argue with the rules created by people, money controls almost everything, when rich people accuse someone , the accuse one can't do something about it.
