Just after midnight Saturday, the most notorious accused killer ever acquitted in U.S. legal history since O.J. Simpson, walked out of the Orlando jail in jeans and a pink shirt. Her lawyer, Jose Baez, walked out the front door with her, climbed into a dark SUV and sped off.
“She looked happy to be out, but not smiling, holding back any facial expression,” said one of the journalists in the media pool.
“Thank you,” said Casey, the only words she uttered, directed at one of the Orange County sheriff’s deputies.
Within minutes, media helicopters followed overhead as they hit the freeway and took an exit ramp downtown, then headed towards the same courthouse where she was found not guilty of killing her daughter. The SUV was then spotted ducking into underground parking at her other lawyer’s office, Cheney Mason.
Then, Casey Anthony gave media the slip, as her lawyers appeared to create diversions.
“I have no idea” where she is, said Mark Lippman, attorney for parents George and Cindy Anthony on CNN Sunday. He said Baez had called him to ask to use her parents as decoys, but Lippman vetoed that request. He said her parents had asked to see her, but Baez had vetoed that.

Meanwhile, Judge Belvin Perry sent Casey Anthony back to jail–until next Wednesday, when she will be released despite his four year sentence for lying to police since she’s amassed enough jail time to receive credit for time served. She also faces possible fines. Read the rest of this entry »

“Will the defendant rise, along with counsel,” said Judge Belvin Perry, setting up the Casey Anthony Oscar Moment that elevated tension at her murder trial to a crescendo of butterflies swarming.
Then he ordered the clerk to publish the verdict, as she read, “Not guilty” to every count linking Anthony to killing her child.
Now Casey, aka “Tot Mom” is about to walk free next Wednesday, after time served is credited against todays four year sentence for lying to police and a tbd amount to reimburse the county for the massive manhours spent debunking her lies. Read the rest of this entry »

Was the Casey Anthony jury correct in convicting her of only lying to police? Did the prosecution fail to make a solid case that proved her guilt beyond reasonable doubt? Or was the defense simply brilliant in a bumbling way as it threw spaghetti against the wall that stuck? Was the media unfair in coverage that demonized Casey?
Indeed, says Anthony lawyer Cheney Mason. Before he was caught on video tape giving the media the finger at the Casey lawyers victory party following her acquital on all charges related to killing her daughter, Mason unloaded a double barrel blast at hostile hosts and celebrity TV legal experts.
