The Bald Truth has learned Orange County Sheriff’s Detective Yuri Melich was never reprimanded for blogging about the high profile murder investigation he was leading, as Jose Baez represented.
Detective Melich has been the lead homicide investigator in the search for Caylee Anthony’s killer since the summer of 2008, when her grandmother, Cindy Anthony, called 911, hysterical to learn she’d been missing for a month when Casey, her mother, finally admitted she’d failed to report it.
Local reports claim Melich was reprimanded for blogging about the case, but the owner of a major online crime site tells The Bald Truth that Melich never discussed any details about the case on Websleuths, just wrote in to thank his growing fan base for their get well wishes when he broke his leg. Within hours of Ronald Cummings sentencing Friday, The Bald Truth has learned Misty Croslin began to crack under relentless police questioning—and changed her story again.
Family members and sources close to the case tell me Croslin now claims she lied about her allegation that cousin Joe Overstreet snatched Haleigh to cover up yet another horror even closer to home. During her four hour interrogation Friday, The Bald Truth learned exclusively that Misty Croslin now claims it was her own brother, Tommy Croslin, who came to the trailer that night, took Haleigh and fabricated the cousin Joe-machine gun story.
Then, my sources say, she told police Tommy pressured her to go along with it.
Her attorney, Robert Fields, confirmed she met with investigators, but declined to comment further. Read the rest of this entry »

Ronald Cummings was sentenced to 15 years in prison on drug trafficking charges Friday in Putnam County Circuit Court, as Circuit Judge Terry Larue ratified a plea deal worked out earlier with prosecutors—dropping two of five counts with 25 year minimums and fining the father of missing five year old Haleigh Cummings a total of $250,000.
He will serve three counts of 15 years, to run concurrently, that break down this way: three years and a $50,000 fine on one charge, another 15 years and a $100,000 fine on another, and 15 years and $100,000 fine on a third. He faced a possible 70 years if sentenced to the max on all charges.
The concurrent sentences mean he faces 15 years total.

Ayden, age 4, has cancer; Agent Jason Jolicoeur Fights For His Son
By Art Harris, The Bald Truth, (c)artharris.com, all rights reserved
At four, his son, Ayden, is a tough cookie, fighting bad guys like his Dad, FDLE special agent Jason Jolicoeur, a fearless gang buster praised for tackling the violent Crips and Bloods in Flagler County, Florida, and mopping up their mean streets.
Only in Ayden’s case, the bad guy is cancer, a rare and aggressive childhood type called Glioblastoma that made him sick while on family vacation in April. In May, he was diagnosed with the rapidly spreading disease; doctors removed a tumor and urged a pricey treatment called proton therapy and chemo.
“As a Dad, I’ve got to wake up every day and know that beast is in his back,” agent Jolicoeur told First Coast News, a father who watches his son smile every day, then excuses himself to go into the bathroom to “cry my head off.”
